Final Call for Old Age Pension Recipients Abroad: Submit Your Certificate of Life

The Caribbean Netherlands Unit for Social Affairs and Employment (SZW CN) has issued a final notification to individuals living outside the Caribbean Netherlands who receive an old age pension. This notice is specifically for those who have not yet submitted their certificate of life (attestatie de vita, ADV).

Notification from SZW CN:

People who receive an old age pension must submit a certificate of life twice a year: between May 1st and June 15th, and between November 1st and December 15th. Despite several reminders via letters and emails, SZW CN has not received this crucial document from some recipients. Failure to submit the certificate will result in the termination of pension payments as mandated by Article 3 of the Decision on revocation, suspension, and deferment under the BES General Old Age Insurance Act (Besluit intrekking, schorsing en opschorting Wet algemene ouderdomsverzekering BES).

Important Dates for Certificate Submission:

Recipients must submit their certificates during the designated periods each year. It is critical to adhere to these timelines to ensure continuous pension benefits.

Consequences of Non-submission:

If SZW CN does not receive the certificate of life, pension payments will be suspended. This strict measure is necessary to comply with the legal requirements outlined in the BES General Old Age Insurance Act.
