Divi Impact Golf Tournament Raises AWG 100,000 for Special Needs Education in Aruba
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, the Divi Impact Foundation hosted the 5th annual Alex Nieuwmeyer Memorial Golf Tournament at the iconic Divi Links Golf Course, raising a total of AWG 100,000 for the Brighter Future Academy Foundation. The day was filled with thrilling golf action, heartfelt giving, and community spirit.
A Full-Capacity Event with a Hole-in-One Twist
This fifth edition of the tournament was once again a sold-out success, drawing enthusiastic players and supporters. One of the most talked-about moments was the Hole-in-One Challenge at Hole 7, where golfers had the rare opportunity to win a brand-new KIA EV5.
Though the car prize went unclaimed, the excitement helped create a high-energy atmosphere, with players and guests rallying around a noble cause.
Supporting the Brighter Future Academy Foundation
The funds raised during the Divi Impact Golf Tournament were donated to the Brighter Future Academy Foundation, a private school in Aruba that offers specialized education for children with Autism and Down syndrome—students who are unable to attend public schools on the island.
A Surprise Donation that Brought Tears of Joy
During the check presentation ceremony, Ricardo Veldwijk, President of the Divi Impact Foundation, handed over not one but two donation checks totaling AWG 100,000. While the Brighter Future Academy expected a donation from tournament proceeds, they were deeply moved to receive an additional AWG 65,000 raised by Divi team members and guests throughout the past year.
“This was more than a donation—it was a moment of unity and hope,” shared a representative from Brighter Future Academy. “We were brought to tears by this generosity.”
