Chef Alexander Powell’s culinary journey is nothing short of remarkable. Hailing from Jamaica, his passion for cooking ignited during his childhood days spent helping his mom in the restaurant kitchen and caring for his family’s farm. This early exposure to creating dishes from locally sourced ingredients laid the foundation for his culinary artistry.
Chef Alex honed his craft in the gastronomic hubs of New York City, Washington DC, and the vibrant Miami culinary scene. He has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants, top venues in the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos, and studied at the renowned New York Restaurant School. Notably, his mentor and trainer, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, one of the world’s most celebrated chefs, played a pivotal role in shaping Chef Alex’s career.
