On October 12, 2024, Aruba’s top bartenders showcased their skills at the sixth Bartenders’ Brawl. This lively competition featured eight talented mixologists who crafted Aruba’s best cocktails. Industry leaders like Master Bartender Kate Gerwin judged the event. Each contestant created three distinct cocktails in just eight minutes. This challenge pushed the limits of creativity and precision.

Nelson Molina claimed first place with his cocktail, “Nos Cultura.” Meanwhile, Carlos Perez earned second with the refreshing “Coconut Cascade.” Additionally, Luisa Rivero took third with her tequila-inspired drink, “Jalea Real.” Each standout drink honored Aruba’s bar scene and highlighted unique mixology techniques. These drinks also reflected rich cultural influences.

 

The Bartenders’ Brawl enjoyed generous support from local and international sponsors. Divino, Arion, Balashi Brewery, and Wilhelmina Restaurant sponsored the event. Their strong backing highlighted the event’s significance in Aruba’s hospitality industry.

Iron Chef Aruba 2024: A Culinary Showdown to Remember

On October 13, 2024, Iron Chef Aruba showcased the culinary talents of three top chefs. These chefs exhibited exceptional skill by presenting a three-course menu. A distinguished panel judged the chefs, including Chef Alvaro Clavijo, celebrity chef Antonia Lofaso, and Executive Chef Olivier Falchi.

Moises Ramirez, Sous Chef at Lima Bistro, claimed the title of Iron Chef Aruba 2024. His innovative creations wowed the judges. His victory earned him a culinary exploration trip to New York City. This trip offers an incredible opportunity to expand his skills.

Jeanclaude Werleman from Infini Aruba took second place. He secured an educational tour in Cattle Country, sponsored by Certified Angus Beef. Meanwhile, Juan Ludeña, Executive Chef at Bistro L’Avenue, earned third place. He won a culinary experience at the Certified Angus Beef International Round-up in Ohio.

Additionally, this year’s event welcomed student assistants from Aruba’s E.P.I. and EPB programs. These young talents gained invaluable hands-on experience in a prestigious culinary environment.
