Aruba delegation meets with GOL Airlines to review route performance in Brazil

Aruba Expands Airline Partnerships in Brazil with Strategic Meetings at GOL, Copa, and Decolar

From June 8 to 9, 2025, the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) led a high-level mission to Brazil to strengthen its relationships with top Latin American airline and travel distribution partners. The delegation included ATA CEO Ronella Croes, Latin America Director Jordan Schlipken Croes, and Jo-Anne Arends from the Aruba Airport Authority (AAA).

Key meetings were held with GOL Airlines, Smile, Copa Airlines, and Decolar, all critical partners in boosting air connectivity and inbound travel from Brazil to Aruba.

Celebrating Success with GOL Airlines

A standout moment of the visit was the meeting with GOL Airlines, where Aruba congratulated the airline for achieving an impressive 80% load factor on the Brazil–Aruba route. The team reviewed performance metrics and discussed strategic growth plans for the remainder of 2025 and into 2026.

ATA’s recognition came at a special time for GOL, as the airline had just exited Chapter 11 proceedings. During the visit, Aruba’s delegation was invited to witness a celebratory event with 1,400 GOL employees, featuring an address from GOL CEO Celso Ferrer, streamed both in person and virtually.

This moment not only marked a milestone for GOL, but also reinforced Aruba’s close partnership with one of Brazil’s most important air carriers.

Airline and Travel Industry Collaborations That Fuel Growth

The ATA delegation’s visit also included productive meetings with:

  • Smile, GOL’s loyalty program, to explore joint promotional campaigns aimed at frequent flyers seeking Caribbean escapes.
  • Copa Airlines, to discuss ongoing route performance and future collaboration opportunities in the Panama-Aruba-Brazil corridor.
  • Decolar, one of Latin America’s largest online travel agencies, to enhance Aruba’s visibility across digital platforms and booking tools.

These Aruba airline partnerships in Brazil are key to expanding the island’s footprint in Latin America. By aligning closely with airline route managers and digital travel players, ATA ensures that Aruba stays top-of-mind for leisure and business travelers alike.

ATA’s Strategic Focus on the Brazilian Market

Brazil continues to be a top-priority growth market for Aruba, ranking among its top Latin American source countries. The country’s rising airlift capacity and appetite for luxury travel align with Aruba’s strengths as a premium destination.

This visit reflects ATA’s hands-on, relationship-driven approach to tourism growth—meeting directly with decision-makers, celebrating shared successes, and laying the groundwork for long-term collaboration.
