Aruba Government Distributes Handbook for Aruban Students in the Netherlands

The Government of Aruba has released a comprehensive handbook to guide Aruban students studying in the Netherlands, addressing crucial information needs.

Comprehensive Handbook Addresses Key Student Needs

On August 5 and 6, the Cabinet of Aruba distributed the handbook to new students arriving in the Netherlands via a QR code. Director of the Cabinet of Aruba, Joselin Croes LL.M, encourages all parents, deans, and students to review this handbook, which is available on the Cabinet’s website at www.kabinetaruba.nl.

Collaboration Behind the Handbook

The handbook was meticulously compiled over four months, with contributions from Gilner Dirksen of the Bureau of the Minister of Education and Sports and Indhira Burke from the Cabinet of Aruba. It features five chapters, including essential information on student life in both Aruba and the Netherlands. The handbook also includes a comprehensive Q&A section to address common concerns.

How to Access the Handbook

In response to a survey conducted earlier this year, the Government of Aruba identified significant gaps in the information provided to Aruban students studying in the Netherlands. Many students reported challenges in understanding aspects such as insurance, DUO loans, OV-kaart, municipal registration, and more. To bridge these gaps, the government has developed a detailed handbook, covering everything from living and studying in the Netherlands to understanding Aruba’s relationship with the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
