Aruba SPO program extension, Minister Endy Croes SPO announcement

SPO Program in Aruba Extended to 5 Years

The SPO program in Aruba is now extended to 5 years, enhancing student readiness for the job market.

The Scol Practico pa Ofishi (SPO) program in Aruba has been extended to a 5-year curriculum, aiming to better prepare students for the job market. This significant development was announced last week during a Government of Aruba press conference by Minister of Education and Sports, Endy Croes.

Enhancing Job Market Readiness for SPO Students

Minister Endy Croes highlighted that the previous structure of the SPO program allowed students to complete their studies at a very young age, often leaving them underprepared for the demands of the job market. Recognizing this issue, efforts were made over the past year to extend the program. The additional years are designed to offer students more comprehensive training, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed professionally.

During the press conference, Minister Croes confirmed that all students who completed their third year at SPO have registered to continue into the newly introduced fourth year. Classes are set to begin on September 3rd, and the Minister expressed his satisfaction in creating more educational opportunities for Aruba’s youth.

Collaboration and Commitment to Education in Aruba

Minister Croes extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Sports and the commission responsible for the successful introduction of the fourth and fifth years in the SPO curriculum. This collaborative effort reflects a strong commitment to improving the educational system and ensuring that Aruba’s young generation is well-prepared for future challenges in the workforce.
