Kudawecha Ballpark Inauguration On September 6, 2024, the Kudawecha Ballpark in Noord officially opened its doors after a significant makeover. This newly renovated facility is set to become the epicenter for baseball and softball in Aruba.

A Grand Opening Ceremony

The inauguration ceremony featured a rendition of Aruba’s national anthem by Juan David. The event showcased Kudawecha’s new board and expressed gratitude to the government and Lotto pa Deporte for their generous contributions to the project.

Enhancements to Kudawecha Ballpark

The upgraded Kudawecha Ballpark now boasts a state-of-the-art artificial turf field, enhanced lighting, a new backstop, and modern dugouts. These improvements are designed to elevate the experience for players and spectators alike.

Highlights from the Event

Following the ceremony, the first pitch was thrown by Minister of Tourism Dangui Oduber, with Demian Kelly as the catcher, Minister of Sports Endy Croes at bat, and Kenneth Wever serving as the umpire. Minister Croes acknowledged the contributions of Kenneth Wever, Damian Kelly, and all those who have supported the field over the years. This project, which honors the memory of Coby de Cuba, marks the realization of a long-held dream for the community.
