Inauguration of the Renovated Centro Colorado Building

On August 28, 2024, the renovated Centro Colorado building in San Nicolas officially reopened its doors. The event was marked by a ceremonial bell ringing, performed by the Prime Minister, Minister of Justice Rocco Tjon, and representatives from Stichting Hunto.

Enhanced Facilities and Expanded Services

The renovated Centro Colorado building has undergone significant improvements since the new board took over in 2019. The renovation includes expanded rooms that now accommodate up to 40 clients. A dedicated section for women will offer professional guidance and courses, addressing both medical and emotional needs. Additionally, the center will provide developmental activities facilitated by social workers and instructors.

Government’s Focus on Mental Health

The government has elevated mental health to a crisis level, highlighting its importance and directing necessary resources to address it. Stichting Hunto plays a pivotal role in tackling mental health issues by uniting experts and stakeholders to discuss, understand, and find solutions collaboratively.

During the inauguration, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Minister of Public Health Dangui Oduber, Minister of Justice Rocco Tjon, and the dedicated staff for their relentless efforts in mental health care.
