The Children’s Theatre Festival organized by Little Stars at Cas di Cultura!

Following the resounding success of last year, Cas di Cultura is organizing once again the Little Stars project, the grand Children’s Theatre Festival on May 25th, 2024. This project is in collaboration with the Zengenue Theatre group under the direction of Mr. Ferdinand Franca.

One of the goals of this project is to provide elementary and special school children with the experience of performing on the grand stage of Cas di Cultura. They also receive creative lessons after school. The main goal is for all schools in Aruba to participate in this project. Last year, 3 schools participated: Colegio Sagrado Curason, Xander Bogaerts Elementary School, and Caiquetio School, a special school. This year, 4 elementary schools will participate: Mon Plaisir School, St. Dominicus College, Pius X School, and St. Annaschool.

The project has a duration of 3 months during which the children receive lessons in all theatre disciplines, including acting, dancing, singing, and visual arts. There is a central theme of “Snow White”. The intention is for the children to create a new version of the story, putting it into a new context. The children themselves create the story, their costumes, props, and decorations. Thus, they maintain the storyline while adding new elements to the story, making it a completely original work.

The school presentations will take place on May 22nd and 23rd, 2024. Here, the 4 participating schools will present their work, and elementary and special schools are invited to come watch. This will take place in the morning, where buses will pick up the children and take them to Cas di Cultura. The goal of this is to create a culture where children not only perform but also support each other as an audience. This way, they can see more theatrical performances and develop an appreciation for them. The public presentation will take place on May 25th, 2024. Here, the general public can watch all 4 musicals.

We would like to thank our sponsors, the Prins Bernhard Culture Fund Caribbean Region and the Harry Koeman Fund in Name.

We also invite the community to come support our children. Let’s help enrich the Arts and Culture in Aruba. Let’s also support our local and children’s talents.

Tickets are available at all participating schools and Cas di Cultura for Afl. 15.
