New collection of children's books at the National Library of Aruba

Aruba Bank Donates Children’s Books to National Library of Aruba

The National Library of Aruba recently received a generous donation of 100 children’s books from Aruba Bank. This contribution is especially timely as Papiamento is being introduced in primary school classes this school year.

Donation Highlights and Impact

Aruba Bank’s donation, valued at Afl. 5,000,00, was presented by Roxanne Croes and Francis Croes to librarian Gina Jie Sam Foek. The donation is aimed at expanding the library’s collection to meet the increased demand for Papiamento books. This gesture hopes to encourage other private institutions to contribute to the Biblioteca Nacional’s resources.

Enhancing Library Services for All Ages

The donation not only includes books for children but also extends to young adults and adults. The National Library of Aruba offers free membership to individuals under 18, providing access to an extensive collection of books, e-books, and audiobooks. The library also features study spaces, computers with internet access, free WiFi, and venues for events and exhibitions.
