Among others, Spirit Airlines is increasing its flights from Fort Lauderdale to Aruba
Aruba Airport announced a significant advancement in air travel between Fort Lauderdale and Aruba. Recently, Spirit Airlines reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its connection with Aruba by expanding its service from Fort Lauderdale.
MORE WEEKLY FLIGHTS
Previously, Spirit Airlines operated the Fort Lauderdale – Aruba route twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Seeing the growing demand for travel to the island, Spirit took proactive measures by increasing their service to meet the demand for Aruba. Starting from September 6, Spirit increased its service to the island, expanding from two weekly flights to four. The new flight schedule includes Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, offering passengers more flexibility in their travel options.
FURTHER EXPANSION DURING WINTER 2023-2024
Beginning on October 4, 2023, Spirit will further improve its service by changing from four weekly flights to daily flights between Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Aruba. The route will be operated by an Airbus A321 aircraft, providing a capacity of around 228 seats. It is expected that this expansion by Spirit will generate approximately 1,140 additional weekly seats from Aruba to Fort Lauderdale, significantly enhancing the connection between both destinations.
AMERICAN AIRLINES IS ALSO INCREASING FLIGHTS
In addition to this increase in Spirit’s frequency to Florida, it is important to highlight that American Airlines will also operate a route to Florida, specifically Miami-Aruba, with double daily frequency!
FLIGHT ITINERARY
Flights from Aruba to Fort Lauderdale depart from Monday to Friday at 3:30 pm and on weekends at 5:15 pm. “Spirit’s decision to improve its connection with our island is a testament to Aruba Airport’s continued commitment to promoting partnerships with airlines and continuously expanding its global reach,” said Jo-Anne Meaux-Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive at AAA.
