ATA UK Fam Trips Galore
Fam Trips Galore
In June ATA-UK send two fam trips to Aruba, one for Caribtours a luxury B2B and B2C Caribbean specialist tour operator. The group of 8 stayed at Tamarijn Aruba AI and Barcelo Aruba. This was then followed by an Avois British Airways fam trip who stayed at The Embassy Suites by Hilton Aruba Resort. Both groups completed many site inspections, toured the island, sailed on the seas and had a fabulous time exploring and learning all about what Aruba can offer to their clients.
Dancing with the Stars
This year’s annual CTO Caribbean Ball, a wonderful black tie event was held at the Oval Cricket ground in south London. There was networking with champagne and canapes on the balcony overlooking the green, as we watched the sun set followed by a sumptuous three course meal. ATA-UK hosted a table of 10 and were joined by British Airways, British Airways Holidays, Trailfinders, Major Travel, Caribtours and Tropical Sky along with celebrity Ambassador for Aruba, Scarlette Douglas. It was a fabulous evening a great opportunity to network and thank new partners along with raising significant funds for two amazing charities; The Caribbean Tourism Organisation Foundation and the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association Education Foundation. ATA was proud to host a table as this prestigious event.
Its all about British Airways
Hotel representatives from Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Aruba, Divi Resorts, Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa, Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort and Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino all descended on Newcastle for an evening with sales agents from the British Airways call centre. The dedicated Aruba event held at Hotel du Vin involved a champagne reception followed by a 3 course meal, with each course interjected with training, all culminating in a quiz. There were three hotel stays to be won along with rum and champagne. The 16 agents were very interested in Aruba, really keen to learn and excited by the airlines newest route.
The following morning the hotel representatives flew from Newcastle to London Heathrow and met with British Airways for an update on the performance of the route along with information on hotel sales, booking patterns, length of stay, the need for early bookings and how we need to focus on filling the back of the lane. It was really beneficial for the hotels to provide BA with an update on the market and hotel availability over the coming months as we look to work together and solidify this relationship.
