42nd Edition ANATO

The 42nd edition of ANATO took place in Bogota, Colombia. A small delegation of Aruba consisting of the A.T.A. Aruba and Latin America, AAA, and partners in the tourism industry assisted ANATO. ANATO is the most prominent tourism showcase in the region, providing partners in the industry with a way to strengthen their relationships while opening new opportunities for new partners to position themselves.

The President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, welcomed everybody during the official opening night. The A.T.A. representatives present to experience the opening included Ms. Ronella Croes, Mrs. Sanju Luidens Daryanani, Mr. Jordan Schlipken Croes, and Mrs. Jo-Anne Meaux Arends from AAA. Mr. Ernst Norman, Dutch Ambassador in Bogota, and Jan Willem van Bokhoven, Director of Holland House, opened the Aruba booth. The Aruba booth featured 13 participating hotels, tour operators, and on-island partners.

2023 looks promising for the region. The plan is to finish the year with 103%, a 3% increase compared to 2019. The top three countries for January 2023 were Colombia, Argentina, and Brazil, representing 8.4% of the total stayovers. The two airlines representing the 8,350 visitors for this region are Avianca and Copa Airlines. The A.T.A., AAA, AHATA, and on-island partners will continue working hard to achieve full recovery for each market.
