Amsterdam Manor Leads Sustainable Beach Clean-Up in Aruba
Preserving Aruba’s natural beauty is more than a mission at Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort—it’s a way of life. Through its Environmental, Energy, and Social Sustainability Policy, Amsterdam Manor continually demonstrates its dedication to protecting the island’s ecosystems. One of the most impactful initiatives is its recurring Amsterdam Manor beach clean-up, a community-driven event that combines action, education, and long-term commitment to the environment.
Hands-On Sustainability in Action
Every month, Amsterdam Manor organizes beach clean-ups that empower both staff and guests to get directly involved in conservation. Volunteers are provided with all necessary clean-up tools, and the resort offers a light breakfast to energize participants before the work begins.
These events don’t just focus on removing waste—they also serve as engaging educational opportunities. By sorting and safely disposing of collected materials, the clean-ups reinforce the importance of sustainability and inspire long-term environmental responsibility.
Earth Day at the Sasarawichi Dunes
In April, to mark Earth Day in Aruba, Amsterdam Manor joined forces with key partners like Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (AHATA), Aruba Cleaning House (ACH), and fellow resorts including Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort for a large-scale clean-up of the Sasarawichi Dunes area.

Thirty dedicated volunteers participated, showcasing the power of collaboration in preserving Aruba’s natural heritage. While the exact waste weight from this event wasn’t recorded, the cumulative efforts throughout the year have already resulted in 159.77 kg of trash being cleared from the island’s natural spaces.
Environmental Leadership Beyond Earth Day
Amsterdam Manor’s sustainability journey doesn’t end with one clean-up. By hosting monthly clean-ups and closely tracking their outcomes, the resort is working to ensure Aruba remains pristine for future generations. Every piece of litter removed represents a victory for wildlife, tourism, and the overall health of the island.
These clean-ups also build meaningful connections among volunteers. Guests often express gratitude for being able to contribute during their vacation, while locals appreciate the shared care for Aruba’s landscapes.
