Aruba welcomes MICE planners for Destination Review with island tours and cultural events

Aruba Welcomes VIP Planners for May Destination Review Experience

The Aruba Convention Bureau (ACB) recently hosted 12 elite MICE planners from the U.S. and Canada for its biannual Destination Review, held this May. These planners, known as “One Happy Planners,” represent leading companies in the meetings and incentives space and are responsible for organizing high-impact events across the Caribbean.

Participants hailed from prestigious organizations such as HPN Global, Digital Realty, Strategy Association and Event Management, ITA Group, Inc., Core Retreats & Events, and more—collectively holding enormous potential for future bookings and significant economic impact for Aruba.

A Rich Itinerary Showcasing Aruba’s Best

The Destination Review kicked off with a vibrant welcome dinner at JOIA by Iberostar, where guests were treated to Aruba’s famous sunset views from ZIMA rooftop. The following morning offered a unique start—a locally inspired breakfast at Hofi Shon Shoco, located within Arikok National Park. This immersive setting allowed attendees to experience Aruba’s natural beauty first-hand.

Later, jeep tours took the group off the beaten path, highlighting scenic landscapes and hidden gems that MICE groups could explore during future events.

Sail, Taste, and Give Back – Memorable Highlights

Among the most unforgettable experiences was a brunch aboard the Monforte III sailing yacht, catered by Papillon Aruba, offering a gourmet culinary adventure at sea.

The trip also included a meaningful CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) moment, thanks to a collaboration with Sgt. Pepper’s Friends Aruba. Attendees donated toys and supplies for rescued animals, inspiring them to include CSR activities in their own event programs.

Cultural Grand Finale at Fort Zoutman

The week concluded with a magical night at Fort Zoutman, Aruba’s oldest building, transformed into a stage for cultural expression. Guests enjoyed traditional performances from the Popcorn Dancers in folkloric attire and were swept up in the energy of Carnival dancers.

The evening also featured a regional dinner and local gifting experience by Aruba Life Organics, where planners received hand-crafted soaps made with natural marine-inspired ingredients.

A Collaborative Showcase of Aruba’s MICE Excellence

This program was made possible through exceptional collaboration between Aruba’s hotels and DMC partners. Special thanks go to:

  • Host Hotel: JOIA by Iberostar Aruba
  • Participating Properties: Wind Creek Aruba, Hilton Aruba, The Ritz-Carlton Aruba, Hyatt Regency Aruba, Embassy Suites, The St. Regis Aruba, and Secrets Baby Beach Aruba
  • DMCs and Partners: ECO DMS, De Palm DMC, Red Sail DMC, Arawak DMC, and Kukoo Kunuku

These incredible partners created an unforgettable journey, perfectly showcasing why Aruba remains a top-tier destination for MICE travel.
