World Children’s Day
Today, November 20th, we celebrate World Children’s Day. This day was first established in 1954 as Universal Children’s Day to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improve children’s welfare. In 1959, the UN General Assembly also adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.
One in every four persons on Aruba is younger than 18 years. They represent both the present and the future of the island. With approximately 25,000 children in Aruba, education is extremely important. One of the options here in Aruba is the Montessori daycare.
Montessori is a method of education based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning, and collaborative play. COVID-19 Information
We started this week with 83 active cases of COVID-19 registered by the Aruban Health Department. As of November 20th (Friday), there are 73 active registered cases. Last week, a total of 43 deaths were confirmed, and we are ending this week with 45 deaths related to COVID-19.
According to Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital of Aruba, there are currently nine hospitalized people, of which three are in intensive care and six are isolated on the general floor.
Please remember not to be in beach areas or public parking lots from 12 midnight to 5 am. Complying with these measures is important to continue being a One Happy Island. Click here for more information about COVID-19 in Aruba.
