In a recent meeting held on Monday morning, Minister of Justice and Social Affairs, Mr. Rocco Tjon, officially introduced Johannes de Haas as the new commander of the Aruba Fire Department (DBA). De Haas will lead the department for the next two years, succeeding Mark van Aken.

Continued Focus on Training and Infrastructure Development

The Aruba Fire Department has recently made significant investments in new supplies, fire trucks, and enhanced training for its staff. Despite these advancements, challenges remain. To address these, Mr. van Aken developed a comprehensive action plan aimed at improving departmental operations. Support from the Schiphol Group has also contributed to upgrading the Oscar fire station at the airport, with ongoing investments in the San Nicolas and Oscar fire station renovations.
