A delegation from Gihae Tang Soo Do Aruba recently achieved remarkable success at the World Tang Soo Do Association World Championship, held in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA.

Medal Breakdown: 23 Gold, 9 Silver, 18 Bronze

Competing against 1,500 athletes from 36 countries, the Aruba team won an impressive total of 50 medals, consisting of 23 gold, 9 silver, and 18 bronze.

International Participation and Aruba’s Unique Presentation

Aruba’s participation was particularly notable in the Creativity Competition, where the team placed third after a 16-year hiatus. The delegation’s presentation highlighted the rich history of Aruba, with a focus on the Caquetio indigenous people.

Creativity Competition: A Celebration of Aruba’s Culture

The team’s performance was enhanced by live tambu music, creating a memorable atmosphere. Remarkably, athletes as young as four years old participated in this event, showcasing the talent and dedication of Aruba’s young karatekas.

Recognition and Gratitude from the Ministry of Sports

The Ministry of Sports expressed deep gratitude to Mrs. Melissa Noguera, the president and head coach of Gihae Tang Soo Do Aruba, as well as the trainers and parents who supported the team. The ministry congratulated all 44 athletes from Aruba who demonstrated excellence and represented their country with pride on the world stage.
