GOL Linhas Aéreas, Brazil’s largest airline, will launch a new direct flight route from São Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU) to Aruba (AUA) beginning in December 2024. This new service will operate non-stop with up to three flights per week during the high summer season on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The flights will be conducted using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, designed to accommodate 176 passengers. This addition to GOL’s international network marks a significant boost for tourism in Aruba, a popular destination known for its warm climate, pristine beaches, and diverse recreational activities.

Brazilian travelers will benefit from the ease of direct flights and will not need a visa for stays up to 90 days, though they must present a yellow fever vaccination certificate. The Aruba Tourism Authority anticipates a 50% increase in Brazilian visitors by 2025 due to this new route.

Local officials and business leaders, including Ronella Croes, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority, and Danguillaume Oduber, Aruba’s Minister of Tourism and Public Health, have expressed their enthusiasm for the route, noting its potential to enhance both tourism and economic growth. Jo-Anne Meaux-Arends, Executive of Aviation Business Development at Aruba Airport, highlighted that this new connection will also facilitate travel to other key destinations, such as Buenos Aires.
