Palm Beach, Aruba – Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino, originally opened as the Aruba Caribbean Hotel in 1959, is celebrating its 65th anniversary on Thursday, July 18th, 2024. As the first luxury resort on the Caribbean Dutch Island of Aruba, it has been a pioneer in the island’s tourism industry.

Renovated Sunset Bar Offer:

To commemorate this milestone, the Hilton Aruba invites both guests and locals to visit the newly renovated Sunset Bar. On July 18th, 2024, enjoy a second drink at 1959 prices throughout the day. The hotel’s first General Manager brought in top entertainers like Xavier Cugat, Harry Belafonte, and Liberace to perform at the “Klompen Klub.” The Washington Symphony Orchestra also graced the hotel with performances during its soft opening.

Architectural Significance:

Designed by renowned architect Morris Lapidus, the hotel is considered one of his best works. Lapidus, who designed the Fontainebleau and Eden Roc in Miami Beach, ensured the Aruba Caribbean Hotel stood out among the 276 hotels he designed.

Over the years, the Hilton Aruba has hosted numerous distinguished guests, including members of the Dutch Royal family such as Queen Beatrix, King Willem-Alexander, and Princess Margriet van Vollenhoven.
